I do eat breakfast and I love to eat!

High-Calorie Diet Linked to Boys

Here is a little bit of the article:
A woman's diet around the time of conception may influence the gender of her baby, research suggests. The study suggests a high-calorie diet at this time - and regular breakfasts - might increase the odds of a boy.

The researchers say the modern trend to opt for low calorie diets might explain why the proportion of boys is falling in developed countries. The study, by the Universities of Exeter and Oxford, appears in the Royal Society journal Biological Sciences.

The study focused on 740 first-time pregnant mothers in the UK, who were asked to provide records of their eating habits before and during the early stages of pregnancy.

On January 26, people from Perth, Australia gathered on a local beach to watch a sky light up with delights near and far. Nearby, fireworks exploded as part of Australia Day celebrations. On the far right, lightning from a thunderstorm flashed in the distance. Near the image center, though, seen through clouds, was the most unusual sight of all: Comet McNaught. The photogenic comet was so bright that it even remained visible though the din of Earthly flashes. Comet McNaught continues to move out from the Sun and dim, but should remain visible in southern skies with binoculars through the end of this month. The above image is actually a three photograph panorama digitally processed to reduce red reflections from the exploding firework.

She asked me this past summer if I could teach the girls how to decorate. No problem.

Friday, I taught 5 girls and their leader how to crumb coat, final coat, and pipe. We used cookie cutters for our design and they filled it in. The girls were very creative.

Saturday, I taught 11 girls. They had a blast learning. These girls were so creative and made up boarders and all sorts of things. Some even attemped at writing on the cakes. They were successful!

We had such a good time. On Saturday, I also got to teach a couple of songs to the girls as well! Yeah!

Dead body?

Yesterday, I entered the journey of discovery (the long loop to get to our parking lot at work) and noticed a woman lying in the pine straw up against some ordimental grasses. I was panicked by this woman's body that I quickly parked and ran inside to grab another employee. I found our new facilities person, Meg in her office and told her we needed to quickly get outside, that there was a body of a woman on our property. This really surprised and made her nervous.

As we were running toward the front door, I was trying to point the woman out. We ran outside, across the parking lot. The woman was not moving. As we approached her, Meg called out to her. The woman turned over and sat up. She told us, she was taking a nap. We asked were she was from, and she mentioned that she worked down at the 55/54 intersection. She still had her badge on from work. She mentioned that she just wanted to nap on our soft pine straw. We kindly told her this was not the place to be taking a nap. After a few moments she got up and got into her car.

Meg and I walked back to the building and watched to make sure she drove away.

She was not drunk or homeless. Just a small asian lady who wanted a nap. This was very scary and very weird. I'm not sure why she didn't just recline her seat in her car. Plus there are bugs, ticks and spiders in the pine straw.

Anyway, very strange. I'm glad she is ok.

However, with the chemical plant on fire and petroleum tanks exploding, most of Apex is evacuated, his appointment was cancelled. We are now watching to see if the winds change. We are located north of the fire. Hopefully they will be able to contain it in the next couple hours.

The rain is not helping much.

Ok, its Saturday night and I'm at home and thinking bed time.

9 am I was wide awake and start studying. Interupted by my stomach, I made Jimmy and I pancakes. (These were the most perfect pancakes I've ever made.) Then back to studying. I finished reading 3 papers for Org. Behavior, and finished a chapter in Econ. Done most of the problems for Econ. Just have 3 more chapters for Org. Behavior, and a full chapter in Econ, and 50 pages in another book. Plus have a paper to write for Org. Behavior. This is the typical work load for this semester. So if you are wondering what I'm doing all weekend long, I'm most likely reading.

Tomorrow, Mom is taking me away from school work. YEAH!!!! We are going to the Pops Concert at Meymandi Hall and then going to McDonalds for dinner and then to the Lion King! I'm so excited!!! I feel like a little kid! I'm getting out of school stuff to go and watch musicals my favorite!

PS: Thank you moonfl0wer.
New Bern

This weekend we went to New Bern. It was quite a nice time. We stayed at a family friend's house. The weekend consisted of us (Mom, Jimmy and I) touring the town.

Friday, we drove to New Bern. Had dinner at The Chelsea. I had a very interesting dinner, The Cheesecake dinner. It was angel hair pasta baked in cheese and then cut into a cake slice. Shrimp and scallops surrounded it. Yummy! Then we walked around the town and had a ice cream at a Maola ice cream shop.

Sat, we went to Tryon Palace. Mom and I went to see the blacksmith working. Boy it was hot in there. Then we walked around the stables and gardens. After this we got a full tour of the Palace. It was an interesting tour. The interesting piece of history was that the palace was reconstructed in 1950's. It burned down and then a road was put in. Then in the 1950's they wanted to reconstruct the palace. I think they were jealous of Williamsburg. After the tour, we took a trolly tour. We loved this! They talked about houses and how many of the houses were moved from original locations.

We had a treat from a Menonite bakery and an ice cream from the Maola ice cream shop again. Also, visited the home of Pepsi-Cola. Of course we had a Pepsi. After this we browse shops and headed back to the house. We were all feeling a bit ill since we missed lunch. So after a short nap we had pizza dinner.

For the evening we caught one of our favorite musicals on tv, My Fair Lady.

Sunday, we cleaned the house and did some laundry. Then we headed to Cape Lookout on the Outer Banks. We took a ferry out to the outer banks. We walked around the lighthouse and then Jimmy and I walked to the ocean side. We dipped our feet into the ocean then headed back.

We headed back to house finished packing and headed home. It is so nice to be clean and home.

Tryon Palace in New Bern

In front of Cape Lookout Lighthouse

Up close to the lighthouse

Wild horses!
